“Willy Topkok is an Inupiat from Teller and Wales, Alaska. A self-taught watercolor artist, his paintings reflect his ivory scrimshaw. An ivory carver since he was ten years old, inspired by his grandmother Auka Gussie Topkok. His Auka would sit beside him, telling the old stories and folklore, while he did his ivory scrimshaw.”
